FOR SERVICE MEMBERS 6 TO 12 MONTHS FROM SEPARATION

File Your VA Claim Before You Get Out

BDD Blueprint is the step-by-step plan for the Benefits Delivery at Discharge program. Get your records, symptoms, and Separation Health Assessment ready on time, file inside the 180-to-90-day window, and give yourself the chance at a decision soon after you separate.

Built by a 100% P&T Army veteran. Education only. You file your own claim or use free accredited help.

The window is short. Most people start too late.

BDD claims can only be filed 180 to 90 days before separation, and you must be available for VA exams for 45 days after filing. The work that makes a claim strong, like records and documented care, takes months. Start early and the window is easy. Start late and it closes.

WHY I BUILT THIS

I wish someone had handed me this before I got out

When I left the Army, I didn't know BDD existed. I spent the next three years chasing records, dealing with denials, and learning the VA system the hard way before I reached 100% Permanent & Total.

Most of that fight could have been avoided with a plan in the last six months of service. BDD Blueprint is that plan: what to do, when to do it, and where to get free help, so you can file on time and start your next chapter with your benefits in motion.

— Ethan Merritt, U.S. Army veteran

Straight talk: free help exists, and you should use it

VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization representatives work on or near most installations and file BDD claims for free. This course doesn't replace them. It makes you ready for them: separation date confirmed, records requested, SHA Part A done, and your real concerns organized, so a 45-minute appointment actually gets your claim filed.

We never take a cut of your back pay, and we never file claims for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this for?

Service members on full-time active duty, including eligible Guard, Reserve, and Coast Guard members, who expect to separate or retire in the next 3 to 12 months. It's most useful when you start 6 or more months out, but the course also covers what to do if you have fewer than 90 days left.

Will you file my claim or review my records?

No. BDD Blueprint is education. You file your own claim on VA.gov or with a free VA-accredited representative. We don't review personal records, choose conditions for you, or represent anyone before the VA.

Can you guarantee a rating or a decision date?

No one honestly can. The VA decides every claim on its own evidence. BDD is designed to speed things up, but it doesn't promise a grant or a specific date. What the course gives you is a plan to file on time with your records in order.

I'm retiring. Is this still for me?

Yes. There's a dedicated lesson on how VA compensation interacts with military retired pay, including CRDP and CRSC basics, so you know what questions to take to DFAS and your branch.

What if I have fewer than 90 days left?

You can't use BDD, but you can still file a pre-discharge claim. The course shows the alternative path so you don't lose time.

What's the refund policy?

If the course isn't right for you, request a refund within 14 days of purchase under our refund policy.

Your separation date is already set. Your plan should be too.
