DENIED, UNDERRATED, OR GETTING WORSE?

Know Your Next Move After a VA Decision

Read your decision issue by issue, find what was missing, choose between a Supplemental Claim, Higher-Level Review, or Board Appeal, and protect your effective date, without paying anyone a cut of your back pay.

Built by a 100% P&T Army veteran who fought through denials himself. Education only.

Four situations. Four different paths.

Picking the wrong next step is one of the easiest ways to lose months. Start by knowing which situation each issue is in.

Denied

Find the missing element: diagnosis, in-service event, or link. Then pick your lane.

Underrated

Compare what VA found against the rating criteria. Error in the record, or new evidence?

Worsened

File for an increase, and know the risks and protected ratings first.

New or secondary

Understand how secondary service connection works and what evidence it needs.

Is this for you?

A good fit if you...

  • Have a VA decision you disagree with or don't fully understand
  • Were denied, rated lower than expected, or have a condition that's gotten worse
  • Want to choose your review lane yourself instead of guessing
  • Want to walk into a VSO appointment prepared, or file on your own

Not the right fit if you...

  • Haven't filed your first claim yet (start with the full Veteran Claims Blueprint course)
  • Are still on active duty and preparing to separate (see BDD Blueprint)
  • Want someone to review your records or file for you (use a free accredited VSO)
  • Are looking for a guaranteed rating (no one can promise that)

Straight talk about help and fees

Free VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization representatives can help with reviews and appeals. Accredited claims agents and attorneys may charge a fee for work after an initial decision, under rules VA oversees. Federal law requires accreditation to prepare or present your claim, so check anyone who asks for a cut of your back pay.

This course doesn't replace any of them. It helps you understand your decision and your options so you can make good choices, whether you file yourself or work with an accredited representative. We never take a cut of your back pay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this for?

Veterans who already have a VA decision and want to understand their next step: a denial, a rating that seems too low, a condition that has worsened, or a possible secondary condition.

Will you review my decision or file for me?

No. This is education. We don't review your records, choose a lane for you, write statements or medical opinions, or represent you before the VA. The course shows you when accredited help makes sense and how to find it.

Can you guarantee a higher rating?

No. The VA decides every issue on its own evidence. The course helps you understand what was missing and how each review option works.

My one-year window already passed. Is it too late?

Not necessarily. You can generally file a Supplemental Claim with new and relevant evidence at any time, though the effective date is usually later once the one-year window has passed. If your condition has worsened, an increase claim is a separate path. The course explains both.

Does it cover the Court of Appeals or old decisions?

Yes, at an overview level. You'll learn your options after a Board decision, including the 120-day deadline for the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and what clear and unmistakable error (CUE) means for old final decisions. Those routes usually call for an attorney or accredited agent, and the course explains why.

Do I need the full course first?

No. Increase & Appeals Blueprint stands on its own; you don't need the full course first. The full Veteran Claims Blueprint course covers the entire claims process from the beginning. This course focuses only on what to do after a decision, so it's shorter and more specific.

What's the refund policy?

If the course isn't right for you, request a refund within 14 days of purchase under our refund policy.

Your one-year clock started the day your decision was dated.

Use it well.
